Piedmont Road and Pharr Road Intersection Dangers

The intersection at Piedmont Road and Pharr Road in the Buckhead section of Atlanta is one of the city’s most dangerous roads because of the difficulties drivers have making safe turns off of Piedmont onto Pharr, or into nearby businesses. The dangers include:

  • Lack of designated green arrows for turning lanes on Piedmont Road.
  • Very steep driveway into the adjacent busy office complex requiring slow turning.
  • Frequent large postal trucks turning onto Pharr that block visibility of oncoming traffic.
  • High number of drivers turning into the busy car wash just south of Pharr.
  • Relative high speeds on Piedmont road exiting Buckhead.
